In 2023 we and our partners asked local people to tell us about their ambitions and aspirations for themselves, their local area and for the city for the next 10 years – the result was the Community Plan. The results of this survey will be used by Hull City Council services to understand how we are delivering on our parts of the Community Plan, and what you want us to focus on.

A165 Holderness Road Junction

Holderness Junction

Hull City Council is seeking feedback from residents and commuters about proposals for safety improvements at two junctions on Holderness Road.

Improvements are planned for the Bellfield Avenue and Summergangs Road junctions and form part of the council’s Safer Roads Fund programme, following a successful bid to the Department for Transport.

Initiatives delivered through the Safer Roads Fund aim to reduce deaths and serious injuries on the road network.

Help Shape Future Bus Stop Improvements

Local Bus Stop Improvements

As part of Hull City Council’s Local Authority Bus Grant programme, the Council is using funding to improve bus stop facilities throughout the city. This includes installing up to 200 live bus information displays, which show real-time bus arrival information and service updates, and up to 60 new bus shelters with environmentally friendly green roofs.

The Council is carrying out this research to understand where people think these improvements would have the greatest benefit.

Community High Streets Phase 3

Community High Streets

Hull City Council have allocated £6m to spend on community high street improvements with a phased programme of work.

Over the course of the project, improvements will be made to a total of 16 neighbourhoods and local centres spread across the city.

The Council’s Community Highstreets Project Team would like to understand the real issues that affect high street users and the community at large. We want to hear your views on each of the areas chosen for investment and what residents, business owners and people who work in those areas feel they need to make them a better place to live, work, play and shop. Your opinion matters to us.
