THIS SURVEY ASKS ABOUT:

In 2023 we and our partners asked local people to tell us about their ambitions and aspirations for themselves, their local area and for the city for the next 10 years – the result was the Community Plan. The results of this survey will be used by Hull City Council services to understand how we are delivering on our parts of the Community Plan, and what you want us to focus on.

  • Happiness and Wellbeing – How are you currently feeling?
  • Measuring Hull’s Brand – How do you view Hull, and how do others view us?
  • Attracting Visitors – What are our gems? What is our story?
  • Does Hull have a good reputation? – How can we continue to build it?
  • Your Views of Arts and Culture – Are you a culture vulture?
  • Hull City Centre – How do you rate it?
  • Communicating With The Council – What are your contact preferences?
  • Keeping Up With The Bills – How are you coping?

Community Highstreets Programme

We have allocated £6m to spend on community high street improvements with a phased programme of work. Over the course of the project we will improve a total of 16 neighbourhood and local centres spread across the city.

Between February and March 2025 we asked you your views on six areas that make up Phase 1 of the project.

Based on what you told us, a masterplan for each area has now been created.

Each masterplan proposes a wide range of exciting changes for the area, designed to respond to local opportunities and overcome the key challenges identified through the earlier research.

You can view the masterplan for each area, and provide feedback, using the links below:

This feedback closes on Friday 24 October 2025.

When completing a survey you can enter a draw for a chance to win prizes including shopping vouchers and exclusive experiences such as curated visits behind the scenes at some of Hull’s Museums.

Parklets Relocation

We are inviting suggestions from the public and local businesses for new locations to relocate 6 of our parklets.

Parklets are small public spaces that repurpose parking bays into places for people to sit, relax, or come-together. Designed as a concept in 2005, the first parklet in the UK was created in 2015 by Hackney Council. Since then, they have been used in a variety of different ways. From outdoor seating, to community gardens, mini event spaces, and even small libraries.

The parklets, currently located along Princes Dock Street in the city centre, will be removed at the end of summer. They were originally adopted by nearby businesses and utilised as additional outdoor seating. However, upcoming improvement works in the area mean that the parklets will no longer be needed.

In order to help identify where to relocate the parklets, we are seeking location ideas, as well as feedback on how they may be best used. Ideally, we are looking for permanent locations, but temporary or trial sites are also welcome.

Give your view on the relocation of the parklets here

This feedback closes on Monday 27 Octobe r2025.
